Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)
Location: Luton
Salary: £160 – £200+ per day (Dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Temp- Perm
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to support students across SEND schools in the Luton area. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping children and young people with a range of communication needs—including autism, speech delays, and complex learning difficulties—find their voice.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, and deliver targeted interventions that empower pupils to develop essential communication skills and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess: Evaluate speech, language, and communication needs using specialist tools and observations.
- Plan: Develop and implement individual therapy plans tailored to each pupil's specific goals.
- Deliver: Lead engaging 1:1 and group therapy sessions.
- Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, TAs, and families to create a unified support system.
- Train: Empower school staff with practical strategies to support communication in the classroom.
- Record: Monitor progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews.
About You
- Qualified: You hold a recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registered: Current registration with the HCPC is essential.
- Experienced: Previous experience with SEND children or young people is highly desirable.
- Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of ASD and various speech/language disorders.
- Adaptable: A team player who can tailor their approach to meet diverse and complex needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
