The Role

As an SLD Teacher (FQT), you'll deliver engaging, personalised lessons that enable every pupil to achieve their individual goals. Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists, and a multidisciplinary team, you'll create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom where every small achievement is celebrated.

No two days are the same, and every lesson is an opportunity to help pupils build confidence, independence, communication skills, and a love of learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to provide the best outcomes for every pupil.
• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets.
• Promoting independence, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Using positive behaviour strategies to support engagement and learning.
• Contributing to the wider school community and maintaining high expectations for every learner.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is due to achieve QTS by September 2026.
• Is an Early Career Teacher (ECT/FQT) looking to begin their teaching career within SEND.
• Has a genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Is patient, compassionate, creative, and resilient.
• Can build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
• Is committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
