Job description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?
We are looking for dedicated, experienced SEND tutors to provide Maths and English tuition to primary and secondary pupils who need extra support to reach their full potential.

Our pupils may:

  • Be working below age-related expectations (ARE) and have significant gaps in their learning.

  • Be Looked After Children (LAC) or come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • Have additional learning needs or SEND diagnoses.

  • Have been excluded from school or are currently out of mainstream education.

You will play a vital role in helping each learner rebuild confidence, develop key skills, and re-engage with learning in a supportive, nurturing way.

About the role:

  • Subjects: Maths and English (Primary & Secondary)

  • Location: Tuition delivered in homes, libraries, schools, or online

  • Hours: 10–15+ hours per week, flexible scheduling available

  • Type: Ongoing, part-time or full-time opportunities

We are looking for tutors who:

  • Have proven experience supporting SEND pupils or those with complex needs.

  • Can build positive relationships and adapt lessons to meet individual learning styles.

  • Are patient, resilient, and committed to helping every child succeed.

  • Hold relevant teaching or tutoring experience (QTS preferred but not essential).

  • Have an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
