Job description

Are you a caring Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with special educational needs? A welcoming primary school in Bedford is looking for SEND TAs to join their team and make a real difference.

SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Bedford
  • Start: April 2026
  • Full Time / Part Time
  • £90 - £105 per hour (dependent on experience)

Support pupils with a range of needs, including:

  • Autism (ASC) – promoting social communication
  • Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to support learning
  • Assist with IEPs and personalised learning plans
  • Support social, communication, and independence skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Experience supporting SEND pupils
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies
  • Patient, adaptable, and proactive
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
