Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 3:45 pm

A specialist school in Taunton is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils aged 4–19 with a range of learning needs, including Autism (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with additional needs in both 1:1 and small group settings

• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and personalised learning plans

• Promote independence, confidence, and social development

• Help manage behaviour and provide emotional and pastoral support

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

Requirements:

• Passion for supporting children with SEND

• Experience working in a school, childcare, or care setting (preferred but not essential)

• Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills

• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils’ individual needs

• Willingness to learn and undertake training
