Pay: £95 - £105 per day (depending on experience)

Our partner in Okehampton is an outstanding provider of education for students aged 5-19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including those with Autism, learning disabilities, communication challenges, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom by assisting with learning activities and promoting engagement.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to each student's needs.
- Assist with the implementation of individualised learning plans (ILPs) and ensure they are adhered to.
- Help students develop key life skills, including communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
- Manage classroom behaviour by using positive reinforcement techniques and supporting students in developing self-regulation skills.
- Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, ensuring their well-being.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff and other professionals to ensure students’ needs are met.
- Assist in the monitoring and tracking of student progress, offering feedback and supporting assessments.
What We’re Looking For:

A passion for supporting students with SEND, particularly those with Autism, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges.

Experience working with children in an education or care setting (preferred but not essential).

Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Adaptability to work with a diverse range of students, each with individual needs and learning styles.

A proactive, team-oriented approach to working with colleagues, teachers, and specialists.

Resilience and the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
