SEND Teacher – Primary Autism & Communication Needs

Location: MK8, Milton Keynes

Salary: M1-M6

Contract: Full-time, Tempoary

Start Date: September 2026

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEND Teacher to join our specialist team in MK8, supporting primary-aged pupils with autism and communication needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children by providing engaging, personalised learning experiences within a nurturing and supportive environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and speech, language and communication needs.
  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress, adapting provision as required.
  • Foster pupils' social, emotional and communication skills alongside academic development.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience working with children with autism and/or communication difficulties.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of SEND practices and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience within a specialist SEND setting is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
