Are you an experienced SEND Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Yeovil?
Teaching Personnel is looking for a confident and experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Yeovil from January 2027.
This is a full-time position working with children and young people who have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex additional needs.
We are looking for someone who understands that progress within a specialist setting can look different for every pupil. You will need to be patient, adaptable and comfortable creating meaningful learning opportunities that reflect individual abilities, communication styles and developmental needs.
The Role
As the class teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons while working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals. You will help create a structured, positive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to make progress.
We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced teachers who can hit the ground running and confidently adapt their teaching to pupils with significant and complex needs.
Experience within a SEND school, PMLD provision or specialist classroom would be highly beneficial. A good understanding of non-verbal communication, sensory learning and adapting teaching for pupils working significantly below age-related expectations would also be valuable.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and complex needs
- Confidence leading a classroom and working collaboratively with support staff
- A calm, patient and flexible approach
- Strong safeguarding awareness and a genuine commitment to inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
