SEND Pathways Support Mentor & Specialist Support Opportunities
Job description
SEND Pathways Support Mentor & Specialist Support Opportunities | Hailsham & East Sussex
If you're passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and looking for a rewarding role within specialist education, I'd love to hear from you.
I'm currently recruiting for an exciting full-time SEND Pathways Support Mentor position within a specialist SEND school in the Hailsham area. Alongside this, I also recruit for a wide range of SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex, offering opportunities for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Intervention Staff and SEND Teachers.
So, even if this particular role isn't quite right, I'd still encourage you to apply—we may have something that is.
Featured Vacancy – SEND Pathways Support Mentor
This isn't your typical Teaching Assistant role.
You'll join a dedicated Pathways provision, supporting pupils who are finding it difficult to access learning in the classroom. Your role will be to help them regulate, rebuild confidence and overcome barriers to learning before supporting their successful reintegration back into lessons.
Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you'll become a trusted adult who helps pupils rediscover confidence in education.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from people who are:
- Calm, resilient and emotionally consistent
- Positive role models for young people
- Strong relationship builders
- Patient, empathetic and professional
- Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
Experience within SEND or SEMH is beneficial, but it isn't essential. Many successful educators come from backgrounds including education, youth work, residential care, coaching, mentoring and support work.
Looking for Something Different?
Alongside this role, I'm regularly recruiting for:
- SEND Teaching Assistants
- Learning Support Assistants
- Behaviour Mentors
- Intervention & Pastoral Support
- SEND & SEMH Teachers
- 1:1 Support Roles
- Day-to-day, long-term and permanent positions
Working with a range of specialist schools means I can often help educators find the setting that's the right fit for them, not just the first vacancy available.
Practical Information
- Full-time (Monday-Friday)
- Hailsham area
- Immediate interviews available
- Teaching Assistant pay: £92.60 per day
- Teaching roles paid to scale where applicable
A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
If you don't currently hold one, you'll need to apply for one through us. I'll support you through the process, though the cost is covered by the applicant.
As part of our safeguarding process, we'll also require references covering a total of 24 months of employment history (where possible), alongside a full employment and education history.
Interested?
Whether you're interested in the SEND Pathways Support Mentor role or would like to explore other SEND and SEMH opportunities across East Sussex, I'd love to hear from you.
