SEND & SEMH Teacher – Purpose-Driven Education Role | East Sussex

We are recruiting for SEND and SEMH Teachers across East Sussex to support specialist primary and secondary settings.

These schools work with pupils who require structured environments, clear expectations and emotionally informed teaching. Teachers in these settings balance curriculum delivery with relational practice and behavioural consistency.

This is an opportunity for educators who want their teaching to have tangible, daily impact.

The Role May Involve

  • Teaching small classes within SEND and SEMH settings

  • Delivering adapted and differentiated curriculum

  • Working closely with support staff and pastoral teams

  • Maintaining consistent behaviour expectations

  • Supporting both academic and emotional development

Suitable Candidates Will

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)

  • Demonstrate calm, reflective classroom leadership

  • Understand behaviour as communication

  • Be resilient and consistent

  • Be committed to SEND education

  • A child-only DBS is required. If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply and pay for a DBS and register it on the Update Service. Support is provided throughout.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
