SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

A Specialist School located in Tameside are currently looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This position is a full time post which will involve working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm. 

For the succesful Teaching Assistant this position will commence immediately and will initially run until the end of the academic year (July 2020), however this position may become permanent dependent on the needs of the School.  

The setting is an outstanding small special school which is situated over in the Tameside area. The Setting caters for secondary aged pupils who may have complex medical difficulties, so the ideal Teaching Assistant will have in background in working with those with profound learning difficulties. Ideally the Teaching Assistant will have experience working within a special school, alternative provision or a care home. 

The ideal teaching assistant will have:

-          Moving and handling training

-          PEG feeding training

-          Experience within personal care and the ability to undertake all aspects of personal care
