If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Care Worker looking to work in a fantastic Special School in the Shirebrook area, then get in touch today!

The school works in extremely close partnership with us and regularly book supply staff who end up working there consistently on a regular basis. They benefit from having a specialist Nursery site and a main site, catering for pupils aged 2 - 19 years old. All pupils have a statement of educational needs and an EHCP, predominantly catering for pupils with Moderate - Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties

The curriculum is broad and varied, catering to a broad range of pupil needs, and also includes specialist 1:1 interventions and therapy sessions, in addition to outdoor learning spaces to complement the classsroom learning experience.

This incredible provision also offer a holistic approach where the children have access to a range of specialist services alongside their academic education, including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. Pupils with mental health needs are seen by LD-CAMHS (Learning Difficulties - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). 

The school welcome candidates with any of the following:

  • PRO-ACT SCIPr-UK training in behaviour management (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working in any capacity with individuals who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and/or Physical Disabilities
  • Experience in SEN school settings
  • Experience in care work roles including nursing, support work or any other similar type of role with vulnerable children or adults
  • Medication training (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience and knowledge in how to support people with complex sensory needs
  • Proactive, approachable, energetic and nurturing personalities
  • Individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to support extremely complex young people and those who aren't afraid to get stuck in from day one!

The school come to us for a range of requirements but predominantly we are initially looking for Teaching Assistants who are willing to undertake day to day supply TA work to help the school manage sickness and short term booking needs. However there is capacity for some of the work to be longer term, to provide consistency for the young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
