We are looking to recruit support workers to work in one of our partnered SEN colleges. The learners in this college are all over the age of 16, with some being up to 25 years of age.

The college is a speciality provision, with all learners being diagnosed with some form of complex SEN. This includes Sever Autism, SLD, PMLD and other forms of severe learning difficulties. Due to these additional needs the learners are working at much lower levels with the curriculum being based around independent living skills, such as budgeting, finance, cooking.

The college is looking for Support workers who will:

  • Support the learners with their daily learning
  • Provide a good example of how to complete tasks
  • Be a calming presence
  • Show patience and understanding to these learners.

This college provides an induction day for all interested support workers to ensure it is the right place for you. The college also looks to begin the temporary to permanent process ASAP so you would join their contract within a short time frame. They are looking for support workers to begin now and also in September with the start of the new school year.

You would be subject to standard vetting checks including two recent employment or education references as well as obtaining/having a Child and Adult DBS.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
