Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Wythenshawe
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP


The Role:

A welcoming and inclusive school in Wythenshawe is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Prepare resources and adapt materials to meet individual learning requirements
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school setting preferred)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to challenges
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
