SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wokingham
Job Type: Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours
Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £80 - £95 Per day
Qualifications: GCSE

Job Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Support students with SEN in their academic, social, and emotional development
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities and outings
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
- Manage challenging behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies
- Provide feedback and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students
- Contribute to the overall planning and organisation of the classroom
Required Qualifications:
- GCSE qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of GCSE qualifications
- Additional training or certifications in SEN or relevant field is desirable
Experience:
- Experience working with students with SEN in an educational setting
- Experience implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching strategies
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEN and different learning needs
- Ability to provide appropriate support and assistance to students with SEN
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilience and ability to handle challenging situations
- Adaptability and flexibility in responding to the needs of students and the classroom environment
- Creativity in developing engaging and inclusive learning activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training or certifications in SEN or relevant field
- First aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily in a classroom setting
- May involve working with students who have challenging behaviour
- Regular collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Potential for occasional outings or field trips
