Job description

 Learning Support Assistant | Weston-super-Mare | Full Time | September 2026 Start

We are recruiting compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work across SEN schools in Weston-super-Mare from September 2026.

This rewarding full-time role involves supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs including ADHD, Autism, SEMH, and complex learning needs. You will help students access learning, build confidence, and manage behaviour in a supportive educational environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with learning activities inside the classroom
  • Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils with communication, engagement, and daily routines
  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals preferred
  • Patient, resilient, and caring nature
  • Understanding of additional needs such as ADHD and Autism
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for making a positive impact in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
