The Role Overview

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded primary provision in Wareham, Dorset.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with immediate starts for the right candidates.

This role involves supporting pupils aged 4 to 16 within a positive and structured learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their best.

Your Responsibilities

The working day runs from 8.45am to 3.30pm. You will be working mainly within a primary setting, providing tailored support to pupils and assisting teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible learning.

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties

  • Delivering one-to-one and small group support in line with individual learning plans

  • Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management and classroom engagement

  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment

 

Required Experience

  • At least six months of childcare experience

  • Hands-on experience supporting children or young people with SEN needs

  • A calm, patient and compassionate approach to supporting learning

 

Pay and Benefits

This position offers an hourly rate of £13.75.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
