Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs) – KS1 to KS5

We cater to students from Key Stage 1 (KS1) to Key Stage 5 (KS5), focusing on creating a nurturing and supportive environment that enables each child to reach their full potential.

The Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting students with MLD across KS1 to KS5. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide tailored support for individual students, helping them overcome learning barriers and fostering their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with MLD.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Help develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage and support students' personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Assist with personal care needs where necessary (training will be provided if needed).
  • Support students during off-site activities, including educational trips and work experience placements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly MLD (essential).
  • Knowledge of the curriculum across KS1 to KS5.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Desirable Qualifications/Skills:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with communication aids, sensory equipment, or specialized teaching tools.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with children with MLD, Autism, ASD, ADHD
