SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Stockport

Start date: ASAP

Contract type: Full-time/ temp to perm

We are working with a specialist school in the Stockport area to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants for a full-time role to begin ASAP.

The chosen SEN Teaching Assistant would be supporting students with communication and education needs, working one-to-one with student across classroom and physical activities. Alongside working closely with fellow staff members to support students with Autism, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.

The school is purpose built to support those with additional needs with equipped classrooms and other facilities such as sensory rooms, soft play areas to support these young people, with a high staff to pupil ratio in each room.

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant MUST have:

  • Experience in care or education settings
  • Understanding of complex needs, learning disabilities, Autism, sensory impairments
  • Empathy, resilience and excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to positive outcomes
  • An Enhanced child & adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
