Location: St Albans and surorunding areas

Pay: £92.63 - £100 per day

Full-time, term-time only, 8:30am - 15:30pm 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming specialist school in St Albans this September. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, independence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. Every day is different, and every achievement - big or small - makes a real impact.

You'll be:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and other additional learning needs.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Encouraging independence, communication, and social development.
  • Supporting learning through creative and engaging activities.
  • Assisting with behaviour support using positive strategies.
  • Working as part of a supportive, experienced multidisciplinary team.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

We're Looking For

You don't need previous school experience - we're looking for the right attitude.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A caring, patient, and resilient personality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Experience in care, youth work, support work, childcare, coaching, healthcare, or similar (desirable but not essential).
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
