Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

  • SEN schools in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley
  • A full-time role available (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm)
  • Experience supporting children or young adults with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs is desirable but not essential
  • Part-time roles are also avaialble 
  • Competitive rates between £80-100

We at Teaching Personnel have Specialist Provisions in Sheffield, Rotherham, and Barnsley looking to recruit full-time and part-time Support Assistants for a school which caters for pupils with additional learning needs.

These schools are looking to secure a proactive, kind natured individual who ideally has experience working with those who have special educational needs and can display challenging behaviours. Members of the Senior Leadership Team have said they would like to consider individuals with any relevant experience whether it be personal, within care, within the prison service, or within education.

The Role

On a full-time OR part-time, long-term basis you will provide support to students across the school. You will support children’s physical, social and emotional welfare. You will work alongside Teachers to adapt support according to the individualised needs of srudents.

The school caters for children with severe and moderate learning difficulties. Children range between the ages of 5 and 13.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
