Location: Portsmouth
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist educational setting in Portsmouth.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
  • Is patient, resilient, and compassionate.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
