Job description

Part-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND Support) – Year 3
Location: Dorset, BH12
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Hours: Part-Time (Monday - Friday) (8:30am-12:30pm)

We are seeking a caring, committed, and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in BH12. This rewarding part-time role involves working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with SEND

  • Assist in implementing tailored learning strategies and support plans

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress

  • Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Support the child’s social, emotional, and behavioural development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential)

  • Be patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be reliable, flexible, and committed to making a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
