Teaching Assistant Opportunity - Lowestoft Area

We are working with schools across the Lowestoft area that support pupils with a variety of additional needs. These can include autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), moderate learning difficulties, and other barriers to learning. Every pupil is unique, and the right Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in helping them succeed both academically and personally.

This is a highly rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will help students build confidence, independence, communication skills, and positive relationships while supporting them to overcome challenges and reach their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with a range of additional learning, emotional, and communication needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support and learning activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in lessons.
  • Help students develop independence, confidence, and important life skills.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each student.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
  • A patient, compassionate, and understanding nature.
  • The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • A willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
