Our welcoming specialist primary SEND school in Haywards Heath provides a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for boys aged 5-11 with a range of complex needs, including autism, social emotional mental health (SEMH), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team, working on a 1:1 basis with one of our primary-aged boys. This role involves supporting the pupil with both learning and emotional regulation throughout the school day, under the guidance of class teachers and the SENCo.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 tailored support within the classroom and during activities

• Help develop learning strategies suited to the individual child

• Encourage social, emotional, and academic progress

• Support with sensory needs, communication, and behaviour management

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families

You Will Need:

• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH and/or autism

• A calm, patient, and resilient attitude

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils

• A relevant qualification or willingness to learn (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach desirable but not essential)
