SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Cardiff and Bridgend
Contract: Full-time
Start: September
Salary: From £92.63 per day
Progression: Potential to transition onto a school contract
The Role:
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist setting in Cardiff and Bridgend to recruit Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This provisions support learners who require additional behavioural and emotional support to engage positively with education. The ideal candidate will be resilient, proactive, and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Promoting positive behaviour strategies
- Building strong and trusting relationships
- Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Assisting with emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
What We're Looking For:
- Experience within education, youth work, sports coaching, care or mentoring
- Confident behaviour management skills
- A patient and understanding approach
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Passion for supporting vulnerable young people
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
