SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with autism to flourish in a calm, structured and nurturing environment? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school for pupils with autism, starting after Easter.
This is a rewarding role where you will help children develop their communication, confidence, academic skills and independence—making a meaningful difference every day.
✨ About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with autism in both classroom and social settings
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to help students access learning
- Use structured routines, visual aids and communication strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and self‑esteem
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- A calm, patient and empathetic individual
- Experience working with children or young people with autism (desirable)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Someone proactive and committed to inclusive education
- A willingness to learn and adapt strategies to support individual needs
Requirements:
- Experience in SEN, school or care settings is beneficial but not essential
- A valid DBS (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
