Job Title: Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Location: Bridgend Area
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available
Start Date: Immediate

 

Role Overview

We are seeking committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants to join a specalist provision located in the Bridgend area. The successful candidates will provide support to pupils in both classroom and small group settings, assisting teachers in delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment.

 

About the school:

This provision is a special school in Bridgend for pupils aged 7–19 with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, including autism and other additional learning needs. It provides a supportive environment focused on resilience, teamwork, and individual development. The school’s mission is to enable all children to enjoy success, build self-esteem, and develop lifelong learning skills. It emphasizes teamwork, shared leadership, and strong parental/community involvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in the delivery of lessons and learning activities
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils as required
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and teamwork
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in sporting, coaching, or similar team-based environments is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a school setting
  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous

 

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant expierence supporting children or young people with behavioural challenges
  • enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce council (EWC) or willingness to register
