Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Child with ADHD

Location: Blackpool
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ADHD in a primary school setting in Blackpool.

Role Overview:

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies that support the child’s learning and emotional regulation.
  • Provide consistent, positive reinforcement and help develop social and communication skills.
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and encourage engagement in lessons.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to regular feedback for parents and staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with ADHD or other additional needs (school-based experience preferred).
  • Patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and maintain a calm, structured environment.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to work as part of a supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
