Teaching Assistant – Speech and Language Support (Year 1)
Location: Blackpool
School Type: Mainstream Primary School
Start Date: 2nd September 2025
⏰ Full-time (Monday to Friday), Term-Time Only
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per day (depending on experience)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool to recruit a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support children in Year 1 with communication and language development needs.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, proactive, and patient individual who has a passion for supporting early communication skills. You will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with speech and language needs

Deliver targeted interventions, working alongside the school’s SENCO and external specialists

Support pupils within the classroom and during focused intervention sessions
-
Monitor and record pupil progress, helping to adapt strategies as needed
-
Promote confidence, social interaction, and a positive attitude to learning
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✅ Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
✅ A strong understanding of speech and language development (or willingness to train)
✅ Excellent communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach
✅ Relevant qualifications or experience in SEND/SLCN support (desirable but not essential)
