SEMH Teaching Assistant – Schools Across Bath
Location: Bath and surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term Opportunities
Salary: £92n - £100 per day
We are currently recruiting compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Bath, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact and helping young people overcome barriers to learning in a supportive and structured environment.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students
- Help manage behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional support needs is desirable
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
- Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or support work are welcomed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
