A specialist educational setting in Blandford Forum is seeking an experienced Year 4 SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team from January 2027. Interviews will take place in October 2026, making this an excellent opportunity to secure your next permanent position well in advance.
This role is not suited to someone looking to learn on the job. We are specifically searching for an accomplished professional who can confidently step into the classroom, establish expectations from day one and hit the ground running.
About the Position
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and highly personalised lessons to pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The successful candidate will create a structured, nurturing and stimulating environment that enables learners to thrive both academically and socially.
- Planning and delivering differentiated learning programmes
- Supporting individual EHCP outcomes
- Managing challenging behaviour positively and effectively
- Building meaningful relationships with pupils and families
- Encouraging confidence, independence and achievement
- Working collaboratively with therapists and support staff
- Monitoring progress and adapting strategies accordingly
- Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom culture
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching within SEN settings
- Excellent behaviour management techniques
- Strong classroom leadership skills
- A calm, adaptable and proactive approach
- The ability to engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children with additional needs
