Job description

SEN Teacher – Primary (All Key Stages)
Sheffield & Barnsley

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in primary education? We are recruiting committed and experienced SEN Teachers to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in inclusive and specialist primary settings across:

  • Sheffield
  • Barnsley

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language, and complex learning needs)
  • Develop and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies
  • Foster a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Opportunities are available in both mainstream schools with resource provisions and specialist SEN settings.


✅ We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs in a primary setting
  • Strong knowledge of SEND strategies and inclusive teaching approaches
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach

Additional SEND qualifications or training (e.g., NASENCo, autism training, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
