Job description
Are you a compassionate, emotionally intelligent educator who believes in the power of relationships and personalised learning? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, PDA, ADHD, attachment needs, and various learning difficulties.
This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a nurturing, emotionally‑safe environment and is passionate about trauma‑informed, relational teaching.

What You’ll Do
- Deliver high‑quality, differentiated learning matched to SEMH and neurodiverse profiles
- Build trusting, emotionally safe relationships with pupils who may struggle with connection
- Apply trauma‑informed, attachment‑aware and behaviour‑as‑communication approaches
- Lead and guide a class team of teaching assistants
- Support regulation through structured routines, predictable environments and relational practice
- Work closely with pastoral leads, therapists and family networks
- Assess progress across academic, emotional, behavioural and social outcomes
Essential Requirements
PGCE with QTS
A recognised PGCE (QTS) is required.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Adult & Child Workforce)
Applicants must hold a current Enhanced DBS, registered on the Update Service.
SEN Experience or Strong Commitment to SEN
Applicants must have experience supporting SEMH/ASC/PDA/ADHD learners, or a clear desire to specialise.
Rapport‑Building Skillset
The ability to build trust, emotional safety and strong relational connections is essential.
