Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Macclesfield

Location: Macclesfield
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Flexible Supply (Full-time / Part-time opportunities available)

We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a range of schools across Macclesfield and the surrounding Cheshire area on a supply basis.

You will be supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). This role requires patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with additional needs
Support teachers in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities
Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
Assist with pupils’ emotional and social development
Help monitor and track progress in line with individual learning plans

Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or similar setting)
A calm, supportive, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
