The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of individual learners
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of additional needs
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting support where necessary
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and families
- Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning programmes
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and wellbeing
SEN Experience We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from teachers with experience supporting pupils with:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Behavioural needs and emotional regulation challenges
- Sensory processing difficulties
Experience within specialist settings is desirable but not essential. Teachers with a strong passion for inclusive education and a willingness to develop their SEN expertise are encouraged to apply.

- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Be passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
- Be committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching children or young people within primary, secondary, or specialist settings
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport, as travel to schools and specialist provisions throughout Lowestoft and the surrounding areas will be required
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
