Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated and passionate SEN Teachers to work across specialist provisions and schools in Lowestoft and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking teachers who are committed to supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them to achieve their academic, social, and personal goals. The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of individual learners
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of additional needs
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting support where necessary
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and families
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning programmes
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and wellbeing

SEN Experience We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from teachers with experience supporting pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Behavioural needs and emotional regulation challenges
  • Sensory processing difficulties

Experience within specialist settings is desirable but not essential. Teachers with a strong passion for inclusive education and a willingness to develop their SEN expertise are encouraged to apply.

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Be passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching children or young people within primary, secondary, or specialist settings
  • Demonstrate a commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport, as travel to schools and specialist provisions throughout Lowestoft and the surrounding areas will be required
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
