Job description

Experienced SEMH Teacher – Lowestoft | Immediate Start

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEMH Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school setting in Lowestoft for an immediate start. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 10–16 years who require specialist social, emotional, and mental health provision.

The successful candidate will be confident delivering engaging lessons, managing behaviour positively, and building strong relationships that help students achieve both academically and personally.

Please note that a full valid driving licence is essential, as well as an Enhanced DBS on the update service.

The Role

  • Full teaching responsibilities including planning, preparation, and assessment
  • Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support students aged 10–16 within a specialist SEMH environment
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning atmosphere
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and senior leadership

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Previous experience within the UK education system
  • Experience working within SEMH, SEND, alternative provision, or specialist settings
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service required to fast-track your application
