Job description

We are delighted to be recruiting a passionate SEN Teacher with QTS to join a highly respected specialist provision in Dorchester. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, either on a permanent basis or for the remainder of the academic year.

This exceptional setting provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where children are supported to thrive both academically and emotionally. The school is known for their strong therapeutic and pastoral support and their child-centred, trauma-informed approach.

Students are supported with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Age Range: 6–13 years

  • Hours: 8.45am to 5pm (some weekday finish times may vary)

  • Class Size: Maximum of 8 pupils

  • Support: Each student has access to a dedicated Teaching Assistant

You will deliver engaging, tailored lessons that support both learning and emotional development, working closely with TAs and the wider multidisciplinary team.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching SEN pupils 

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience supporting SEN – desirable, not essential

  • Calm, adaptable, and resilient teaching style

  • Commitment to inclusive and personalised learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
