SEN Teacher – Permanent Role
Location: Carlisle
Start Date: ASAP / September considered
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

A specialist independent provision in Carlisle is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. The school provides a supportive, structured environment for secondary-aged pupils who require a personalised approach to learning.

Students at the provision present with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Speech and Language difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties. Many pupils have experienced challenges in mainstream education and benefit from small class sizes, consistent routines, and tailored teaching to help them re-engage with learning.

The role will involve:

  • Delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs

  • Supporting pupils to develop both academically and socially

  • Working closely with support staff to implement EHCP targets

  • Creating a calm, structured learning environment

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Have experience working with SEN or alternative provision

  • Be patient, adaptable, and relationship-focused
