SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH & Behaviour Regulation (Long Term)

At Teaching Personnel, we work with SEN focused primary schools where behaviour regulation, emotional consistency and skilled adult support are essential to keeping classrooms stable. These schools require experienced professionals who understand SEMH needs and can remain calm, structured and effective in high‑pressure environments.
This is not a general Teaching Assistant role. It is a carefully matched, long term SEN position for professionals whose behaviour and regulation skills need to be used properly. This role is not suitable for candidates seeking daily supply.
The role
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behaviour needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Using regulation led approaches to reduce escalation and support engagement
• Helping pupils build routines, emotional awareness and positive behaviour patterns
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Providing consistent support that reduces disruption and pressure on staff
Who we are looking for
We are seeking experienced behaviour and SEMH professionals, including: • SEN Teaching Assistants with SEMH experience
• Behaviour or regulation specialists
• Staff from PRUs, ARPs, specialist schools or complex mainstream settings
• Professionals from youth work, care or residential backgrounds with strong behaviour management skills
This role is not suitable for entry level candidates or those looking for short term placements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
