SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: England, Greater London, Clapham

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time hours

Salary: £85 - £110 Per day

Job Duties:

The SEN Secondary Teaching Assistant will support students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting. Duties include assisting students with their learning activities, providing one-to-one support, implementing individual education plans, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is required. Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach are essential.

Education:

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in education or special educational needs is required.

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of special educational needs practises, ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents, strong organisational skills, and a passion for supporting the educational development of students with special needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional qualifications in areas such as autism awareness, behaviour management, or Makaton training would be advantageous.

Working Conditions:

The role involves working within a school environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals. The job may require some flexibility in working hours to accommodate school schedules and events.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
