Ad-Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chorley

Sector: Special Educational Needs (SEN) – Primary & Secondary
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking adaptable and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to support on an ad-hoc basis within a specialist SEN setting in Chorley. This provision caters to both primary and secondary-aged pupils with complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, and associated behavioural challenges.

The Role:

Provide classroom-based support across both primary and secondary age groups

Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with complex SEN needs

Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual EHCP targets

Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation, and emotional needs
-
Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

Respond effectively to challenging behaviours using de-escalation strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (education, care, youth work, or similar)

A calm, resilient, and patient approach
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
The ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments
-
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
-
Team Teach or similar training (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
