Job description

SEN 1:1 Primary Tutor – Newcastle (NE1)

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Primary Tutor to support a learner in the NE1 Newcastle area.

This rewarding role involves providing personalised one-to-one support to a primary-aged student with Special Educational Needs, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions in core primary subjects
  • Support students with SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
  • Adapt learning resources and teaching approaches to suit individual needs
  • Build positive relationships and encourage student engagement
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Teaching, tutoring, TA, or support work experience preferred
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
