Are you an inspiring teacher with a passion for supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs? A warm and inclusive primary school in the Trafford area is seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join their team this September. The successful candidate will be working with pupils who present a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, sensory processing differences, communication and speech & language needs, SEMH, and physical or medical needs.

About the Role

As the school’s SEN Primary Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet a range of complex SEN needs.
  • Create structured, supportive learning environments that promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and the SENCO to implement EHCP targets.
  • Use creative teaching strategies, visual aids, and sensory resources to support learning.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, ensuring consistency and communication with parents and professionals.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and social development within the classroom.
  • Lead a class with patience, positivity, and a personalised approach to every learner.

✔️ Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Experience working in SEN settings, ideally with primary-aged pupils.
  • Understanding of SEN strategies including PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation, and behaviour support.
  • A child-only Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel).
  • Strong communication, resilience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their potential.
