Teaching Personnel is currently seeking an enthusiastic SEN Primary Teacher to join a specialist primary provision supporting pupils with a range of moderate to complex additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, social communication needs, and associated emotional and behavioural challenges.

The Role
As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of learners. Working alongside experienced support staff, therapists, and senior leaders, you will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic progress, confidence, independence, and personal development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Developing and implementing personalised learning strategies to support student progress.
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
- Monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress against EHCP targets and learning outcomes.
- Supporting pupils' communication, social development, emotional regulation, and independence skills.
- Managing behaviour positively through effective relationship-building and consistent support strategies.
- Maintaining regular communication with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching children with SEN, SEND, or additional learning needs.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice.
- Can build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Possesses excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- Is patient, resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Has experience within specialist settings, alternative provisions, or mainstream schools with SEND responsibilities (desirable but not essential).
