Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming SEN primary school in the Bolton area, seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. This specialist school supports pupils with moderate additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties (MLD), autism spectrum condition (ASC) and speech and language needs, providing a nurturing environment where pupils are supported to thrive academically and emotionally.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and personalised learning to pupils across the primary age range, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met through creative and inclusive teaching.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with moderate needs
  • Creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies
  • Managing the classroom environment to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals
  • Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate records and assessments
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents and carers
  • Supporting pupils’ social development, independence and confidence

Requirements

The school is looking for a committed and compassionate teacher who is passionate about inclusive education.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
  • Have experience teaching children with SEN or additional needs (SEN school or mainstream with SEN experience welcomed)
  • Have a strong understanding of moderate learning needs and autism
  • Be adaptable, patient and resilient
  • Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management strategies
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply through Teaching Personnel
