SEN Primary Teacher – Specialist Setting (Bolton)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-established specialist provision in Bolton to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEN Primary Teacher. This setting supports primary-aged pupils (approximately 4–11 years old) with a variety of special educational needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
• Communication and interaction needs
• Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges
• Sensory processing needs

The school provides a nurturing, inclusive, and child-centred environment, focused on developing independence, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing. Class sizes are small, and pupils benefit from a highly supportive staff team and tailored learning approaches.

‍ The Role

As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering personalised, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences that support every pupil’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes
• Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and engagement
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and multi-agency professionals
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed
• Foster strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and independence skills

✅ Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
• Experience working with SEN in a primary or specialist setting
• Strong understanding of additional needs, particularly ASC and learning difficulties
• A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to teaching and learning
• Ability to engage and motivate pupils with diverse learning profiles
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
