Position: SEN Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant
Location: Specialist School, Tamworth
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Weekly Salary: £420 to £450
About Us:
Our Specialist School in Tamworth is dedicated to providing exceptional education for students with special educational needs (SEN). We foster an inclusive, supportive environment where every student can thrive. We are seeking a passionate SEN Sports Coach who will also serve as a Teaching Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in the classroom and provide one-on-one student support.
- Promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among students.
- Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment during sports activities.
- Assist with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and reviews.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
- Relevant coaching qualifications or experience in sports coaching for SEN.
- Understanding of different types of SEN and support strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with SEN.
- An enhanced child DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
