SEN Learning Assistant – Alternative Provision

East Manchester, Stockport & Tameside | Flexible Opportunities

Teaching Personnel are seeking calm, proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary, secondary, and specialist settings, helping them feel safe, confident, and engaged in learning.

The Role

You’ll support pupils with ASC, ADHD, sensory needs, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities, through:

  • Classroom, 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and routines
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and specialist teams

Every placement offers variety, purpose, and hands‑on SEN experience.

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.)
  • A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Willingness to support SEN and behavioural needs
  • Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30–15:30
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
