Job Title: SEN General Teacher (SEMH)
Location: West Molesey

Contract Type: Full-time (8am - 4pm)
About the Role:
We are seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN General Teacher to join a very small, specialist provision in West Molesey. This unique setting supports just 6 pupils across the entire school, all with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a deep and lasting impact. You will be working closely with pupils who may present with needs related to abandonment, attachment difficulties, and the shame cycle, requiring a consistent, therapeutic, and patient approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver personalised, therapeutic-based learning for pupils with SEMH needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress
- Adapt teaching approaches, understanding that repetition and revisiting topics is often key to learning
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, social development, and wellbeing
- Facilitate local educational trips and activities (driving required)
- Work collaboratively with a small team to provide a consistent and nurturing environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEMH needs is essential
- Understanding of therapeutic approaches to education
- Resilient, patient, and able to remain consistent in the face of challenges
- Full UK driving licence (required for local trips)
- Strong relationship-building and behaviour management skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge or experience of ASDAN
- ELSA training
- Suitable for a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT) with relevant SEN/SEMH experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
