Truro & St Austell Area | Primary Schools


Flexible Supply & Long‑Term Opportunities Available / Weekly paychecks and competetive pay / £14.25 per hour £92.63 - £ 100 per day

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a range of welcoming primary schools across the Truro and St Austell areas. Due to increasing SEND needs within schools, there is strong and ongoing demand for committed, reliable support staff.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and enjoy making a meaningful difference in a school environment.


The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils with:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Speech, language and communication difficulties
  • Learning and cognitive needs

Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of the school and pupils. Your role will be to help pupils access learning, stay regulated and feel supported throughout their school day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND
  • Supporting emotional regulation, routines and transitions
  • Assisting pupils to engage with classroom learning
  • Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs
  • Creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Following safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Strong understanding of the importance of safeguarding
  • An Enhanced Childworkforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two recent professional references equivilating to at least 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
